Eurovision Song Contest-Baku 2012

Saturday May 26th @ 3pm we will be streaming the Eurovision Song Contest live. Jedward are being sent for the second year running and let’s hope they make it through the semis, either way it will be an amazing party like every year. For people who are not aware the ESC is the mother of all talent shows, already for 54 years, the Eurovision Song Contest is Europe’s favourite TV show. After more than five decades featuring some 1,100 songs, the contest has become a modern classic, strongly embedded into Europe’s collective mind. “Did you know that not only stars like ABBA, Celine Dion, Cliff Richard and Julio Iglesias took part, but also dance act Riverdance thanks its fame to the Eurovision Song Contest?”. We hope to have an amazing party, we have official ESC t-shirts, baseball caps, badges and much more to give away for prizes, we will have our now famous balloon drop, we will have a prize for the best scorecard and also the random flag picking pool. Here at Hibernia we are proud to be one of the very few to celebrate the ESC in NYC. It’s glam, it’s eurotrash and we love it, come join the party. Please remember that we have communal tables for everyone to enjoy and get involved with the show so unfortunately we cannot reserve or let people hog long tables.

Calling all Celts, Scot’s and all our expat brethren, dust off your Kilts and get ‘em oot and ‘mon down to Hibernia, sorry I mean Caledonia, to imbibe, sing, have a laugh and most importantly to Celebrate the Declaration of Arbroath, (look it up) basically it means not letting the English rule our land, yes we have that in common, now go watch Braveheart again. The menu will have Vince’s Scotch eggs and they are Braw, plenty of Belhaven Scottish Ale and a never ending supply of Single Malt Scotch Whisky, plus a hunner mair surprises to look forward to. So lock up your bairns at hame and come enjoy yourself with Eddie, Jeff and the rest of the Hib crew………..and as always remember that “THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE”…………..

Click to view slideshow.Hope you have been practicing, because Hibernia’s Holy Day is around the corner, that’s right all you Irish and plastic paddy’s alike St. Paddy’s day is less than two weeks away. We will be celebrating with our usual fervor and shenanigans, as always Scott the Leprechaun will be in attendance handing out free shots, beads, T-shirts, hats etc…, Look out for Sean the Nun when he opens his wallet and is very generous for about 4 minutes but not to worry if you miss him the now famous Balloon Drop serves up many amazing prizes so you can burst your way to a good time, the Bagpipers will also be on hand for your entertainment and our resident Dj’s will have all the place thumping with Trad and all genres of Irish music. Lamb Stew, Corned Beef and Cabbage will be on the specials board and don’t even worry about the Guinness and Whiskey we have a ship load on its way just for that Day, so start playing the Game of Drink right now to be up to scratch. Slainte!!

And don’t forget our Baseball trip on June 3rd and our annual Charity Golf outing on June 13th.

And Don’t forget March Madness is right around the corner, which will bring the pipers, midgets, copious amounts of Guinness, streams of Whiskey, corned beef and cabbage, that’s right folks Saint Patricks Day is only 35 more sunrises away.

Super Bowl XLVI

Will we get a repeat of 4 years ago when Big Blue take on the Pats this Sunday?? Eli and the Giants travel to Big Brothers house in Indy with the hope history does repeat itself. Patriots where heavy favorites that day and revenge for a perfect season lost will be in the mind as well as the Giants already getting the better of the New England outfit this year. Young Manning is starting to prove his critics wrong this season and a second Super Bowl ring with Payton looking on might cause for a bit of jealousy at the next family reunion. Whatever this Sunday brings us let’s hope for an epic battle, and if your not one of the lucky ones traveling to the game get on down to Hibernia nice and early to save yourself some decent real estate as we will not be doing reservations, first come, first serve. Super Bowl XLVI, Sunday Feb. 5th

Also we are down to our last 8 100pt boxes, 200pt already gone, we want to pull the numbers so we can get them out there for everyone but we won’t do that ’til we have all the POINTS! in, look out for the 10pt boxes on the day, good luck everyone……..

With our beloved Steelers out this weekend there might be some room to catch all the action this championship Sunday. We still advise you to get in early to lock down you favorite seat at the bar or table!

We would also like to welcome back one of our amazing chefs, Luis! Stop in and enjoy one of the fantastic meals he can whip up…

Now that winter is here we have the solution for the biter cold…. whiskey and the heat on full blast! Swing in and warm up with all of us at Hibernia!

With Wild Card Weekend nearly upon us, the Steelers look to take on his Holiness and the Broncos on Sunday @4 after the Giants V Falcons, it’s sure to be busy so make sure to get in early. Hibernia will be showing The Bengals V Texans and the Lions V Saints on Saturday also.

We want to thank everyone for a wonderful 2011 and what an amazing party we had to begin 2012 let’s hope we can all have a healthy and happy new year.
