Landry Jones prepared to start preseason opener vs. Eagles
Landry Jones is confident in his ability. So are the Steelers, which is why Jones is embracing everything that is transpiring around him as he delves into his sixth NFL training camp with the Steelers. While Mike Tomlin hasn’t officially made any decisions with regard to next Thursday’s preseason opener against the Eagles, Jones is all but a sure thing to receive the nod to start against the defending Super Bowl champions.
Jones and the team’s confidence in his ability has given him the confidence to play and to play well whenever he enters the lineup. Jones is 3-2 as Pittsburgh’s starting quarterback that includes victories in his last two starts.
“It just helps whenever you go into a real game and play and play well,” Jones told 247Sports from Saint Vincent College in Latrobe. “So I’ve had some success around here, so they know that [when] I have to go into a game I’m gonna play well and do my job.”
