Regulars at Hibernia Bar know Becky Lynch in WWE but mainly remember her as Rebecca Quin, or perhaps know her by her nickname “Quinnderella.” She’s gone a long way and done big things since her days here. She is now a two-time WWE Raw Women’s Champion and four-time WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion.
Lynch has been named the best female wrestler of the year for multiple years by Sports Illustrated, Pro Wrestling Illustrated and Wrestling Observer Newsletter. She has been involved in many matches considered for match of the year, headlined countless shows and Premium Live Events and won the 2019 Women’s Royal Rumble.
How Becky Lynch Rose to the Top in WWE
The Irish native was trained in the early 2000s by Fergal Devitt (whose in-ring name is Finn Bálor) and Paul Tracey. She honed her skills on the independent circuits of Europe, Canada, Japan and the United States.
Eventually, she earned a spot on WWE’s roster working in their developmental territory in Florida before being called up to the main roster in 2015 for international shows and television tapings. She won her first WWE women’s championship, the SmackDown Women’s Championship, on September 11, 2016.
Where Is She Now?
Now Lynch is a staple among the vets in WWE and she’s never afraid to make her presence known. Always at the top of the card and in the mix for any title shot, she is starting to achieve an iconic status. She is unarguably one of the best female wrestlers ever.
Lynch is married to WWE star Colby Lopez (whose in-ring name is Seth Rollins). The two have a daughter, Roux, born in 2020.
Lynch has appeared in numerous television spots, from guest hosting, announcing awards and appearances as herself on shows like Ridiculousness, Billions and Game On! She has also appeared on numerous podcasts, webseries, many video games and in movies.
Becky Lynch’s Feuds
Lynch has had notable feuds with most of the top female wrestlers in WWE during her career. Some of her best feuds were undeniably those with second generation star Charlotte Flair and former women’s champion Bianca Belair.
Currently, Lynch is embroiled in a feud with Japanese sensation Asuka, while still causing trouble for Belair. With her devil-may-care nature, no one knows what she might do next.
Where to Watch
Right now, Lynch is on the Monday Night Raw roster. Raw airs on USA Network at 8 PM on Monday nights. WWE’s Premium Live Events can be streamed on Peacock.
Many people haven’t watched wrestling since the glory days of Hulk Hogan. Jumping into three solid hours of a wrestling show might not be the best place to start. Check out these highlights of Becky Lynch in WWE recently against Asuka or her best highlights from 2021.
A great place to rediscover a love of pro wrestling is at a live event. Lynch is scheduled to appear when WWE Raw comes back to NYC at the Madison Square Garden on July 25, 2022.
Whether you are cheering from the crowd or from your couch, it’s always good to see an old friend like ‘Big Time Becks’ doing well.
