This Cookie Policy explains how hiberniabar.com (the “Site”), run by Hibernia Bar, uses cookies and similar technologies. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. Similar technologies, such as local storage, work in much the same way. They help a site work properly, stay secure or remember settings.
Cookies we use
- Security cookies (strictly necessary). Our security provider, Cloudflare, sets a short-lived cookie (
__cf_bm) to tell real visitors apart from automated bots. It expires after about 30 minutes and is not used to track you across other websites. - Reviews widget (third party). The Google reviews on our homepage are shown through a widget from Elfsight, which may store small amounts of data in your browser so the widget can load and display correctly.
- Site administration. WordPress sets login cookies only for our own staff when they sign in to manage the Site. Visitors don’t receive these.
Analytics and advertising cookies. We use Google Tag Manager to load these tools:
- Google Analytics sets cookies (such as
_ga) to count visits and show us which pages people use. The information is reported to us in aggregate. - Meta Pixel sets cookies (such as
_fbp) so we can measure how our Facebook and Instagram ads perform and show relevant ads to people who have visited the Site.
You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on, and manage ad preferences in your Facebook or Instagram settings.
Links to other sites
Our links to Google Maps, Facebook, X, YouTube and Instagram take you to those sites, which set their own cookies under their own policies.
How to control cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Most browsers explain how in their help pages. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the Site may not work as intended.
